Choosing the correct financial adviser can be an arduous task.Advisers can be one of four of the following:
Tied Agent - Where the adviser is only able to advise on and recommend products from a single particular provider.
Multi Tied - Where the adviser is only able to advise on and recommend products from a limited number of providers.
Independent - Where the adviser is able to offer advise on and recommend produts from the whole of the market, with no restrictions on providers. Most importantly the adviser is acting on behalf of the client and not the organisation that they represent.
Whole of Market - similar to independent advisers, however the difference being independent advisers must always offer the client the option to pay by fee for their services.
